Special Thanks — 2010 Equine Assisted Therapy Retreat

Heartbeat Serving Wounded Warriors had our First Equine Assisted Therapy Retreat and our Warriors loved it. It took a lot of help to put this together:

  • First of all Thank You to Jim “Hutch” Hutchins for allowing our first retreat to be at his Horse Ranch, NW Natural Horsemanship Center in Fall City. Jim not only allowed us to be there to serve our warriors but taught some Natural Horsemanship for both days free of charge for our first retreat. His place is beautiful and he offers boarding and training events! Please check it out. Great place for horses. Thank You Hutch, we all enjoyed it so much!
  • Thank you to the wonderful horses and their owners who allowed our warriors to ride on them with our Hippotherapy. They were wonderful!
  • Thank you to Raging River CafĂ© on Fall City Rd in Fall City for donating a lot of the most wonderful breakfast served. They also have great lunches! Thank You Lyle and Kea!
  • Thank you to Fall City Inn in Fall City which gave us a greatly reduced rate on the overnight stay for our warriors. They were wonderful to us all. Thank You! Thank You Scott! A great place to stay! Thank you to a special donor who gave to Heartbeat to cover the rest of the charge! Wonderful people!
  • We have some great groups that also donated money for food. Thank you to Rich and Pam Collingwood for organizing that! They did an awesome job!
  • Thank you to Snoqualamie Eagles for dinner at the retreat!
  • Thank you to VFW in Snoqulamie for donations towards lunch.
  • Thank You to the Snoqualmie Riders with American Legion Post 79 for their generosity.
  • Thank you to our great medical team: Dr Jerry West, Chief OT Lesley Vaughn, OT Phyllis Lang, NARHA trainer Anne Bogus, EAGLA Cert for Equine side, Russ Humphrey. It was a joy to work with all of you!
  • Thank you to our wonderful regular Heartbeat—Serving Wounded Warriors volunteers who always step up and do whatever is needed!

Heartbeat can only continue this valuable program with continued monetary donations.
