Assignment, Recovery, & Comfort Kits — morale building for wounded warriors

What are ARC Kits?

Assignment, Recovery, & Comfort Kits are backpacks filled with many donated toiletries, snacks, and clothing. All items are new. Volunteers fill the kits, and Heartbeat delivers them to wounded warriors as needed — about every two to four weeks.

Assignment, Recovery & Comfort Kit contents

The Montana State Grange and the Edgewood Grange in Washington donate handmade, twin-sized comfort quilts for our ARC Kits. These beautiful Hero Quilts come in patriotic patterns. Service members enjoy them immensely.

Here is an easy way to donate and deliver ARC Kit supplies without leaving your chair. You may place a secure, online order. It couldn’t be easier. Dollar Days mails your order to Heartbeat. For tax purposes, you can print the Dollar Days receipt when ordering.

Why do wounded warriors need ARC Kits?

Sometimes service members injured on the battlefield go directly to Madigan Army Medical Center here in Washington. Other times they go from battlefield to a European hospital and then to Madigan. They might have also stopped at another hospital in the United States. It’s a long journey. And it’s common to arrive at Madigan with nothing but a uniform.

Assignment, Recovery, & Comfort Kits please our wounded service members. It’s a warm welcome home when the kits are waiting for them. It tells them that we care.
