In July Heartbeat helped with the WTB baby shower. The warrior moms and volunteers had a wonderful time. Our donors provided new baby outfits, and our own Baker’s Angels made delicious, homemade baked goods.
Over 400 to attend fun-filled event at WTB
Every year the Fort Lewis Warrior Transition Battalion (WTB) has a fun-filled organizational day for wounded warriors, staff, and their families. Heartbeat and other charities will help run this popular event in August 2009. It’s an opportunity to build our heroes’ morale.
About 50 Heartbeat volunteers will join in the fun by staffing more than 10 carnival games and water sports activities: paddle-boats and races, balloon bounce, water slide, bank shot game, grab a duck, fishing, and more.
Our volunteers bring delicious, homemade, baked desserts, serve, clean up, and provide parking lot transportation. Thank you, Team Heartbeat volunteers for helping our heroes heal.
