Christmas Wish 2009
Thank you to all of these companies and organizations for making Christmas Wish a success in serving wounded warrior families for 2009. We also want to thank all of the many individuals who also participated and made a difference in the lives of our heroes! We offer a huge thank you to our wonderful volunteers at Team Heartbeat. You are gold to this organization and we could not do what we do without you. A special thank you to our Team leaders Theresa Roberts and Jenn Whitney and Janet Raulerson.
Sincerely,

Christmas Stocking 2009
Heartbeat’s volunteers have a party to fill the many stockings for our Christmas Stocking program.
Heartbeat’s Carla Richards Receives Bryce Lilly Award
McChord Air Force Base recently honored Carla Richards with the Bryce Lilly Service Award, the highest service award given by the wing commander. Carla is a Heartbeat advisory board member. She spent many hours picking up and delivering hundreds of donated Christmas toys to McChord AFB. The Lilly award was presented to Carla during McChord’s 2008 Annual Awards Ceremony.
Master Sgt. Bryce Lilly helped defeat the enemy in WWII battles. He was a POW for almost four years and was one of the few surviving members of the infamous 70-mile Bataan Death March. In 2002 he passed away peacefully at the age of 82.
Warrior Summit BBQ for Our Wounded Warriors
Thanks to our wonderful volunteers the event was a great success.
Pleasant Valley Primary and Pleasant Valley Middle Schools Host Donation Drive for ARC Kits
2008 Christmas Stocking Program for Wounded Warriors
Thanks to our many volunteers and donors, we delivered 978 filled stockings to wounded warriors.
Easter Joy 2007
We appreciate the many donations from community members — individuals and businesses alike. Thanks to them and our dedicated volunteers, Easter Joy brought smiles to our little heroes.
Warrior Lounge Opens at MAMC
On July 27, 2006, Madigan Army Medical Center opened a Warrior Lounge — rarely seen in army medical centers. General Baker, commanding general of Madigan at the time, wanted to make a safe, comfortable, and healing room for service members. Thanks to generous donors, the idea became a reality. Service members can e-mail, play video games, read, and relax in a room that looks and feels like a comfortable living room. The view of Mount Rainier is incredible.
SgtMaj Mullaney, Madigan Hospital, gives opening remarks.
Janice Buckley, General Baxter, and USO representative cut the ribbon.
Those in attendance included Marcie from Military Severely Injured; Zonia Smith, Madigan Hospital; Chuck Nordstrom, volunteer; Joy Row, volunteer for OHF (now Heartbeat); Janice Buckley, president of OHF (now Heartbeat)
1st Annual Snohomish Invitational Chili Cook-Off
The cook-off helped bring in many donations for our wounded warriors and their families.
Snohomish Top Foods entered the cook-off to help with donations. Seen here in the middle is Heartbeat Board member Jim McAllister, who put this whole event together.

Radio Talk Show Host Supports the Troops
On December 22, 2005, Pabla Veggie Cuisine hosted a meet-and-greet between KTTH listeners and Michael Medved, national radio host, to raise money for service members. Thanks to KTTH, Michael Medved, and Pabla’s for supporting our heroes.

Seattle Seahawks Visit Fort Lewis
On October 27, 2005, Seattle Seahawks Mike Flood, Paul Johns, Bryce Fisher, and Wayne Hunter visited the 14th Combat Engineering Battalion at Fort Lewis. Their farewell to the 14th Combat Engineering Battalion headquarters gave many service members the encouragement they deserved before deployment.
